A letter of advice about teen problems

Author: Lo Man Ching

Dear Chloe,

You are so brave! I am very thankful that you wrote the letter to me. I understand that you and your mum lack communication and she doesn’t trust you. I hope my advice can help you.

First, I think you should tell your mum about your new friends and let your mum get to know them. Then, your mum may see that they are good children and let you go out with them. If you don’t talk to your mum, she will not know what you need and you will be lonely.

Second, I think you should show responsibility through actions because if you always only say ‘okay’, but you do not do what you promised, your mum will not believe you. You should show your mum you are serious. Then your mum may trust you.

Third, I think you should promise that you will only use your phone or the computer after finishing your homework and revision. She may think you will not do your homework or revise if you are always on the phone or the computer.

I hope my advice can help you and your mum’s relationship to be closer. I would very much like to know if this was helpful. Please write back soon!

Yours sincerely,

Aunt Agony
